Dani Filth Canvas

Dani Filth Canvas Collage :)So here is a pretty simple project to do. It took me about an hour. Pretty easy and very fun :) It also made a rockin' and cool custom birthday gift for my rocker friend! This project can be altered for anyone, and i have done this same project a few times for different friends! Its awesome and everyone seems to love it!
So first-my materials were : a 3x5" hardback canvas, acrylic paints, photo paper, card stock, diamond glaze, and a safety pin. Basically I just painted the canvas black and red, my friends two favorite colors and splattered it a little with white. While it was drying I found and printed pictures of the singer of her favorite band, Cradle of Filth. Then I called her up and asked what her favorite song by the was. I googled the lyrics, picked one line I liked the best, sized them on Photoshop, and printed them on photo paper.

When the ink was dry and so was the paint I mono-adhesive the picture and quotes to the card stock paper and assembled it as I liked. Mono doesn't normally stick to painted canvas to I use diamond glaze. It leaves a shine if you get it on top...so try to avoid that. The safety pin was also stuck on with Diamond Glaze.

All in all its a SUPER easy and cheap project that can be altered to any friend and made a cool birthday gift everyone liked...even if the guy is creepy :)

This is a Taking Back Sunday collage on canvas. I painted pin stripes on it in black and red. Then I splattered it in white. I think thats kinda a neat effect! The picture is of Adam Lazzara and the pix on the side are the rest of the band. I just printed that off on photo paper.
The words are lyrics from different songs of theres that I liked. I used actual safety pins on here, I just superglued them on and shut. The guitar is just a something I cut out of cardstock.
Here is one of the lyrics. This whole project took me like 4 hours cuz I had to get all the pictures but it was well worth it! I love it! I get complemts on it alot and people asking me if I can do one for a band they like. I have only done one other and it took soooo long. But I would make more in the future.

MUSIC canvas/collage

Fun Collage on canvasThis is another canvas I did not so long ago...I was actually listening to the same band I am as I am typing this...that's kinda weird. Woo Papa Roach! lol...
I painted the whole thing black and then while it was still wet I did a small border effect around the edges in white-well it turned grey, so I had to work with THAT! Oh well-I did dark purple over that when it was dry.

These are cutouts from a free booklet thingy I picked up at Area Records when I was getting my guitar checked out. (Oh-BTW...its dead. I mean GONE!) I just cut them out and diamond glazed them on. Created kind of a cool effect to it. And then I used wooden letters painted with the same purple and super glued them on.

'Bananas For Life' Canvas

'Bananas For Life' Canvas
This was done on an average sized standard Walmart canvas. I painted the whole thing black and then when it was all dry I painted in the circles and ovals. I used a stencil for them cuz I did try to make them perfect...and it was strange...
I used a stamp to do the bananas which are just stamped in yellow acrylic paint. I will later put a picture of my friend Mollie and I in there. Cuz we are bananas...inside joke. But a cute canvas!!!

Girl Scouts Gift Swap

Best Friends Frame

This is an interesting crafty project that I came up with kinda last minute...We needed a gift for a gift swap for a Girl Scout meeting. So I used a canvas and painted it (with acrylics) pink. I made a mat of dark brown and cream so all you have to do is put a great picture of you and your friend in there! The corners hold it in so you wont have to glue or tape it in and it wont wreck your photo! The words are stamped in coordination colors. The flower is also a stamp. Perfect gift!
